Did you know just how much of a difference you can make?

We are always amazed and inspired by the wonderful people in our community and the impact they are having. So this month’s newsletter is all about celebrating this, from supporting our quiz night, to volunteering, to sharing ideas about how to make South Invercargill even better!

🙌 QUIZ NIGHT UPDATE 🙌
Wow what an incredible turn out we had for our annual quiz night. With a record 49 teams entered, the Newfield Tavern was packed as everyone tested their trivia skills (or just came for the raffles).

We are so grateful for the support from all the businesses and individuals who donated prizes for the raffles, so if you are out shopping support these fantastic local organisations. Massive thanks as well to all of the people who came on the night. We know times are pretty tough out there, so to see all of this support from everyone absolutely blew us away!

You still have a few days left to share your views on South Invercargill with us in our Annual South Alive Survey. It should only take a few minutes to fill in and there is even a $50 Pantry Voucher up for grabs for one lucky respondent!

Reflections on Volunteering
A national Dovetail evaluation commissioned by the Department of Internal Affairs was recently completed for South Alive. A few of our volunteers were interviewed and here is what they had to say about their experience volunteering with us…

 THE PANTRY UPDATE

‘Nourishing the spirit of generosity and wellbeing in the community’

Winter is still here, and nothing beats a good hearty meal on a cold day.
As you know, we stock great soup mix, NZ grown lentils and everything you need for your crock-pot recipes.

You will find that we are now stocking locally grown fresh vegetables. These vegetables are spray-free and great value!

Mend It Monday is going strong thanks to our wonderful volunteers that donate their time and skills to our community. Get your clean garment mended on the second Monday of the month, only for the cost of a coffee.

As one of the only cafes in South Invercargill we love being part of our community, everyone is welcome and there is a lot to discover in store. More than just great coffee and wholesale products, check out our ever-changing display of art from the Southland Art Society, and the good value plants from our Beautification team.

Don’t forget to come for a cuppa (and have your questions answered) with a JP, Council and Community Cop on the second Tuesday of every month.

We would love to see you soon.
