MEET THE SOUTH ALIVE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Jess, Travis, Beryl, Trudy, Neeka, Robyn, Christabel, Paul
(Absent: Andrew, Gayle)
How amazing that 9 years of wonderful South Alive projects and events have passed by. Happy birthday to all of those in South Invercargill and to our many supporters who have been part of this outstanding community-led development.
We look forward to many more years to make sure that South Alive continues in its mission to be a "vibrant and diverse community that takes the lead in its own future."
The year has experienced its first Covid reminder of how easily this virus can re-emerge and spread. I am sure that many of you were like me in had to remember what to do in Level 2 and I was surprised at how easily I had forgotten. However what does need to be remembered is to make sure that we continue to practice good hygiene and health practices, use the Covid app (or sign in on the paper forms provided) and to especially look out for each other in our neighborhood. This can be a time when people can feel anxious and isolated and it is good to be kind and show support.
This week I also received a letter from our bank (it will be the same for many of the banks I am sure) advising us that cheques will soon no longer be accepted as a means of payment. For those of you, like me, who have lived in a paper traill world of invoices, receipts and cheques this will be a change. Come in to see us at the Pod where we now have two community computers installed and ask us about how we assist you to make this transition to a different way of dealing with money.
Lastly, if you know of anyone who may be interested in receiving our monthly newsletters, then please let us know at the South Alive office in the Pod and we can add their details to our mail out list.
I look forward to meeting with many of you at our Volunteer Appreciation Garden Party.
Take care and best wishes
