This week, June 17-23, 2018 is National Volunteer Week, and we are so grateful to all of the hard working volunteers at South Alive. Your continued efforts to lead the way in making South Invercargill a vibrant and diverse community is appreciated by all of us. We look forward to celebrating all of the hard work put in by our volunteers next month at our Mid-Winter Christmas dinner (more info below).

Busy times ahead!
We are excited to let you all know that thanks to the very generous Lottery Grants Board, South Alive has been successful in securing full funding for stage 3 of our Community Centre build. Stage 3 is the extension of the current building out to the south by 5 metres, creating two purpose built community spaces which can open up into one large space. Once complete, this will allow much more space and flexibility for community projects, gatherings, and meetings, and the current Pod meeting rooms will revert to their original purpose—an office for South Alive and a volunteer lounge. We are extremely grateful for this support, and we will keep you posted on progress!

We packed out the Newfield Tavern!
This year, our annual fundraiser Quiz Night was bigger and better than ever. We packed out the Newfield Tavern, with 42 teams—the most teams they've ever had at a Quiz Night before! With so many amazing sponsors and supporters, we raised a whopping $3,199!! A massive thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make it happen. We had some great prizes this year, thanks to all of our sponsors.

Open Day is happening this Saturday from 10am -3pm in The Pod, The Pantry, and community park. A great chance to learn new skills and more about what we do. Dress warm and come down for a day full of family fun activities! There is something for everyone, so check out the website for more info.
