The group started off initially focusing only on the Zero Rubbish project. It has now evolved to also include projects around planting that will beautify the South Invercargill area and gateways identification to increase a sense of pride and identification.

Join our Action Team
Attend meetings, approx. 1x monthly. Meetings usually 1-2 hrs, on a Saturday at 10am.
Meetings discuss and make decisions on the projects, assess any new project ideas. Organise the work needed on projects
Adopt a pop-up flower garden
Approx. 30 mins every fortnight
Gardens are usually in public spaces outside shops, parks etc. Work involved planting up to 2x year (we can supply plants) and keeping weeded and maintained
Casual volunteer
Usually 1 – 3 hours for working bees
Usually tasks such as weeding but also pruning, planting and ground work
Catering Volunteer
Usually 1- 3 hours for working bees
Tasks include food preparation and serving morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea
Zero Rubbish Volunteer
Usually ½ - 1 hour weekly depending on the size of the street
Adopt a Street and collect Rubbish Help with project management
Plant Propagator
As and when required
Take cutting from your garden and pot them up for projects
